Be there as paranormal investigators search for answers to the museum's mysteries. Is there really a child riding in the pioneer wagon? Was there an actual death at the museum? Explore the museum's 1913 and 1937 buildings with our experts as we hunt for haunts!

Boo! Haunted History Offered up at Annual Mesa Ghost Tour & Historical Walk

(MESA, Ariz.) – The Mesa Historical Society and Mesa Convention & Visitors Bureau presents the Mesa Ghost Tour & Historical Walk, the annual walking tour of downtown Mesa’s historical sites paired with tales of ghosts and goblins. This year the event will have two choices for guests.
On Fri., Oct. 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sat., Oct. 23 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, docents will once again take guests above, below (and beyond!) Main Street as part of the festive event.

Ghost Tour and Downtown Walking Tour

Friday, October 22 (7-9pm) and Saturday, October 23 (10am-noon)

This unique tour gives you the opportunity to visit historic sites and buildings in Mesa, exploring their histories and stories. Are these myths, rumors, legends? Does Mesa have tunnels? What floats down the stairs in the old jail? Come find out on this docent-led tour of historic downtown Mesa.

Visitors for the tour should wear appropriate walking shoes, as the tour will last approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours. The tour will take visitors inside a variety of historic downtown Mesa buildings, and tour guides will share the history and spooky stories of those buildings.

Tickets are available online (payment via Paypal), or by phoning 480-835-7358 during open hours (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10am-4pm). Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children (ages 3-12).

Fall League Game

For $20, catch a game featuring Major League Baseball’s future stars, have a hamburger or hot dog and learn a little about baseball history at HoHoKam Park in Mesa. The event starts at 5 p.m. and includes a ticket to the 7:05 p.m. game between the Mesa Solar Sox and the Phoenix Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League. Meet Arizona Diamondbacks Organist Bobby Freeman, celebrate the 100th Anniversary of “Take me out to the ballgame,” watch vintage home movies from Cactus League games circa 1960 and bid on some great baseball memorabilia during a silent auction.

Experience Pioneer Life Summer Camp

Tuesday, July 29th - Friday, August 1st, 2008 ----- 9am to noon ----

Campers will learn historic games and crafts, participate in a scavenger hunt, and learn about pioneer life through hands on activities.

The camp is suited to children in grades 3-6. Snacks will be provided by the museum.

Registration is $80 per child. Museum members receive a $5 discount per child. (Become a member here.)
